Walcott undergoes surgery on dislocated shoulder
Thursday, 20 November 2008
Arsenal's Theo Walcott has undergone surgery on his shoulder after dislocating the joint in training with England this week.
The 19-year-old picked up the injury after slipping on a wet pitch in Berlin on Tuesday.
He is expected to be out of action for at least three months.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger - a critic of meaningless international friendlies during the Premier League season - says he does not blame the FA for the setback.
"It was an accident that could have happened anywhere," he says.
