The case against former Fianna Fail Councillor Gerard Killally and former Offaly football manager Richie Connor over their admitted secret profit-making has settled at the High Court.

The two men were sued for damages by their former partners in the land deals in Offaly, Declan Guing and Frank Lawlor, both from Edenderry.

Mr Connor, in a written apology, said he got caught up in the mania of the property boom.

Both Mr Connor and Mr Killally, auctioneers at the time admitted making secret profits from two property deals arising from a partnership with Mr Guing, Mr Lawlor and Adrian Daly from Cappincur which was set up in 2005.

The court heard they denied making secret profits in relation to a further two deals in count Offaly.

Mr Daly was suing the two men in relation to those deals

Killaly and Connor the court heard introduced the partnerships to the deals and acted as negotiators and agents and made secret profits which were not disclosed.

Today the case settled with the terms undisclosed, as part of this Richie Connor in a written apology said he got caught up in the mania of the property boom and allowed the temptation of easy gain to impair his judgment.

He apologised to Mr Guing, Mr Lawlor and Mr Daly and to his family for the distress caused.
