Cowen and O'Dea to visit Irish troops in Kosovo

The Taoiseach and the Minister for Defence are due to pay a pre-Christmas visit to members of the Defence Forces in Kosovo today .
Brian Cowen and Willie O'Dea will meet the 233 members of the 39th Infantry Group who are serving at Camp Clarke in the country.
Eight members of An Garda Siochana are also based in the region on a separate security mission.
Mr Cowen will also visit the Kosovan President and Prime Minister during his trip today.
Irish troops have been in Kosovo for the past nine years as part of a 32-nation force responsible for establishing and maintaining security.
The territory declared independence from Serbia in February of this year.
