Monday, 29 June 2009
A delegation of US congressmen is due to hold talks with the President, the Taoiseach and the Tanaiste today as part of a week-long visit to Ireland.
The trip is being led by Democrat Richie Neal, the chair of the Friends of Ireland group, which promotes Irish interests in the US Houses of Representatives.
The group is also due to hold meetings tomorrow with Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny and Labour leader Eamon Gilmore.
Issues likely to be discussed include Northern Ireland, Irish immigrants living illegally in the US and the global financial crisis.
