The cause of Stephen Gately's death remains a mystery this morning, with a post mortem expected to be carried out on his remains sometime this week.
The 33-year-old Boyzone singer was found dead at his home in the resort of Port Andratx in Majorca on Saturday afternoon.
Solicitor Gerald Kean, who has been asked to speak on behalf of the family, says there was no foul play involved in the death, it was not drug-related and it was not a suicide.
He says the family have been told it was just a tragic accident and they are happy with this explanation.
Reports in the tabloid media this morning claim Gately may have choked in his sleep after a marathon drinking session.
His former Boyzone bandmates travelled to Majorca yesterday, saying they were "completely devastated by the loss of our friend and brother".
