Keeping rabies out of Ireland
Sunday, 28 September 2008
The public can help to keep Ireland free from rabies by respecting restrictions on animal movements, according to the Veterinary Companion Animal Society.
The disease kills 55 thousand people every year and is usually transmitted through bites from cats, dogs or bats.
Ireland is one of only 13 countries around the world that does not have the disease.
