Libertas calls on government to heed opinion poll
Sunday, 27 July 2008
Anti-Lisbon group Libertas is calling on The Government to listen to the results of today's opinion poll.
The Red C poll shows that 17 percent of those who voted for the treaty would change to a NO vote if they were faced with a second referendum.
It also shows that more than half of Irish voters would be less likely to vote for the Taoiseach, Brian Cowen, if he called for a second vote on the treaty.
Caroline Simons from Libertas has said that The Government should look at the votes of the people who elected them.
'They really do need to stop wasting their money and concentrate on the fact that the Irish people have said no,' she said.
