Thursday, 28 May 2009
Six men have appeared in court charged with the murder of 49-year-old Kevin McDaid in Co Derry on Sunday night.
All six, plus another two men, have also been charged with the attempted murder of Damien Fleming.
Both Mr McDaid and Mr Fleming were attacked by a gang in a Catholic area of Coleraine following Rangers' victory over Celtic in the Scottish title race.
A ninth man, meanwhile, has been charged with causing an affray.
A PSNI inspector told the court in Ballymena today that all nine men were denying the charges against them.
They were all remanded in custody to reappear in court via video-link on June 8th.
