Study links low education levels and poor health
Tuesday, 4 November 2008
People who leave school early are more likely to die young, according to a study by the Institute of Public Health.
The institute says the research found that people with low levels of education are more likely to die of heart disease, lung cancer or infectious diseases.
Low levels of education are also associated with a range of other illnesses, including back pain, diabetes, asthma, dementia and depression.
People with high levels of education, on the other hand, are more likely to eat healthily and less likely to smoke.
