Teachers to protest at Anglo Irish Bank offices
Monday, 9 February 2009
A group of teachers are planning to picket the offices of Anglo Irish Bank in Dublin today as part of a protest against education cutbacks.
The action has been arranged by an organisation called Teachers United, which says it is angry that banks are being bailed out by the Government while the education system is facing cuts.
It says the Government should be bailing out schools and hospitals rather than using taxpayers' money to fix the mistakes of greedy bankers.
