Three found guilty on all charges over Ireland's biggest ever cocaine bust
Tuesday, 22 July 2008
Three men have been found guilty on all charges relating to Ireland's biggest ever cocaine seizure.
45-year-old Martin Wandon, 48-year-old Perry Wharrie and 41-year-old Joe Daly - all from England - had denied the three charges against them.
1500 kilos of cocaine - worth €440 million - was pulled from the sea at Dunlogh bay, off the west Cork coast on the July 2nd last year.
During their deliberations, the jury of nine men and two women saw CCTV footage from a number of premises in the area from the night before the smuggling operation went wrong.
The men will be sentenced at a later date.
