Tribunal confirms Ahern appearance on Thursday

The Mahon Tribunal has confirmed that the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, will be back in the witness box on Thursday to answer more questions about his personal finances in the 1990s.
The tribunal is currently investigating a number of large sums of money that Mr Ahern received from wealthy businessmen and friends.
Thursday will be his third day of questioning about the money.
Meanwhile, former property developer Tom Gilmartin has resumed his evidence this morning after a seven-week absence.
He told the tribunal today how he was asked by former minister and Fianna Fail treasurer Padraig Flynn to give a €50,000 donation to the party in 1989, but to leave the payee on the cheque blank.
Mr Gilmartin said he regarded demands for bribes from crooked and inept politicians as an affront.
