70 civilians killed in Afghanistan

It is claimed that international forces have killed 70 civilians in southern Afghanistan.

NATO has said it has been told insurgents are planning to make the false claim.

The claim was made after soldiers helped a number of injured civilians who approached forces in Helmand province today.

Elsewhere the separate US-led coalition command has said its troops killed over 220 insurgents in a week of fighting in the same province.
