Cyclone aid continues to trickle into Burma
Monday, May 12, 2008
Aid is continuing to trickle into Burma today amid ongoing criticism of the Government's attitude to international relief organisations.
Burma's military rulers have been accused of hampering aid efforts by the UN and other agencies despite the widespread damage caused by last weekend's cyclone.
The official death toll currently stands at around 29,000, but some estimates put the actual number of dead at more than 100,000.
Around two million people have also been affected by the storm.
However, only a handful of foreign relief workers have been allowed entry to Burma.
