At least seven killed in Pakistan bomb attack
Friday, 23 October 2009
A suicide bomber has killed at least seven people at a checkpoint near a military complex in Pakistan today.
The attack took place close to the complex in Kamra, which is reportedly linked to Pakistan's nuclear weapons programme.
The attacker is believed to have been riding a bicycle.
The bombing is the latest in a string of attacks by Pakistani militants that have killed scores of people in recent weeks.
The upsurge in violence comes as the Pakistani army continues an offensive against militants based in the South Waziristan area, close to the border with Afghanistan.
