Glitter to be released early from Vietnamese prison
Saturday, 2 August 2008
Disgraced glam rocker Gary Glitter is to be released early from prison in Vietnam after being given a sentence reduction to mark the Lunar New Year.
The 63-year-old is serving a three-year prison term for molesting two young girls aged 10 and 11.
He was arrested in November 2005 while trying to leave the country.
Glitter is set to be freed on August 19th under a local tradition to commute prisoners' sentences to mark the Lunar New Year.
