Pakistani opposition to draw up list of demands
Wednesday, 5 December 2007
The parties of Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif have set up a joint committee to draft the demands.
Top of the list will be an end to the emergency rule imposed by Mr Musharraf last month and the release of imprisoned Supreme Court judges.
Mr Musharraf imposed the emergency on November 3rd to prevent the Supreme Court from declaring his re-election illegal.
He suspended the constitution, jailed hundreds of human rights activists, arrested opposition politicians, sacked the Supreme Court judges and replaced them with his own loyalists.
