Mother of murdered boy calls for violent teens to join army

Saturday, 5 July 2008

The stepmother of a boy who was stabbed to death in the UK is calling for violent teens to be forced to join the British army.

The 36-year-old, who doesn't want to be named, was speaking after the death of Shakilus Townsend.

The 16-year-old died after being attacked in broad daylight in south London.

It's the latest in a string of killings - sparking police to put knife crime as their main priority, above terrorism.
