Cooling Towers at Sellafield will fall today after 50 years
Saturday, 29 September 2007
Four cooling towers at Sellafield in Cumbria in the UK will fall to the ground after nearly 50 years of generating electricity.
It is a milestone in the journey to end the power station's contribution to the national grid in the UK.
After years of criticism of Sellafield, permission was given in 2005 to have the towers dismantled.
