Friday, 25 July 2008
US presidential hopeful Barack Obama is en route to France and the UK today after attracting a crowd of at least 200,000 people in Berlin yesterday evening.
The huge crowd showed up to hear the Democratic candidate give a speech in Tikergarten Park.
He told onlookers that the US and Europe had drifted apart and he would work to restore close ties on a basis of trust.
He said partnership and co-operation among nations was the only way to protect global security.
