Paris flights cancelled as France prepares for storm
Monday, 9 February 2009
France was this evening bracing itself for a powerful storm on the way in from the Atlantic.
Flights into and out of Paris have been cancelled from 8pm this evening until 10am tomorrow morning because of high winds closing in on the capital.
Those planning to travel to Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports have been advised to contact their airline, as winds of up to 75 miles an hour were forecast for the French capital.
Forecasters said however that the storm was not likely to be as bad as the one that lashed France on the 14th of January, leaving 11 dead and causing widespread damage.
