Tories warning against Blair for EU job
Saturday, 3 October 2009
The British Shadow Foreign Secretary William Hague is warning there'll be a backlash if Tony Blair is named President of Europe.
The former UK Prime Minister is emerging as the favourite for the job if EU reforms go ahead.
But Mr. Hague has told the London Times that "there could be no worse way to sell the EU to the British people".
The Press Association's Special Correspondent, George Jones, says the Tories are clearly worried,
"David Cameron and William Hague want to try and get some powers back from Europe. But Tony Blair could be in a position to block what they want to do."
