UK ministers face lost data scandal
Sunday, 7 September 2008
In the UK, ministers are facing the fallout from another scandal over lost data.
A hard-drive containing the details of 5,000 prison officers has been mislaid by a private computing firm.
It took EDS more than a year to realise it was even missing.
There is speculation within the Prison Officers' Association that someone is guilty of a cover-up.
British Justice Secretary Jack Straw has ordered an inquiry.
