Seven killed in Iraq bomb blast

Sunday, 29 June 2008

Seven people have been killed in a truck bomb in Iraq.

Officials say a device was detonated by remote control when police went to check the vehicle, which was parked along the side of the road in an area about 45 miles north of Baghdad.

Six of the dead were policemen and the seventh was a member of the local awakening council - who are volunteers working against insurgents.
