Israel bombs Gaza after Sderot rocket attack
Wednesday, 20 May 2009
Israeli warplanes have bombed several sites in the Gaza Strip today following a cross-border rocket attack on the Israeli town of Sderot.
The home-made rocket, which was fired last night, damaged a home in the town, but caused no deaths or serious injuries.
The Israeli military says it retaliated by bombing two sites in Gaza City where weapons were being produced, as well as four tunnels beneath the Gaza-Egypt border.
Palestinian officials say at least four people were injured in the attacks.
