Bin Laden describes Obama as 'powerless'
Monday, 14 September 2009
Al Qa'ida has released a new audio tape of Osama bin Laden giving an address to the United States.
Bin Laden uses the 11-minute tape to argue against President Barack Obama's claims that the war in Afghanistan is necessary for US security.
He says the new president is simply following the Bush strategy of promoting "policies of fear to market the interests of big companies".
He says Mr Obama is "a powerless man who will not be able to end the war as he promised".
Bin Laden has previously issued messages to the US around the anniversary of the September 11th attacks.
