Evidence that rising ocean temperatures caused Gustav
Thursday, 4 September 2008
Scientists have found evidence rising temperatures in oceans are developing more powerful storms - such as Hurricane Gustav.
Over 25 years, cyclones appear to be getting stronger - with the greatest changes found in the North Atlantic and North Indian oceans.
This week Gustav caused the mass-evacuation of New Orleans, while in May, 'Nargis' killed up to 50,000 people in the Bay of Bengal.
