Monday, 27 April 2009
The outbreak of swine flu in Mexico has now killed more than 100 people as governments across the world take precautions to prevent the spread of the virus.
Canada and the United States have also confirmed cases of the illness, while several countries from New Zealand to Spain are investigating possible infections.
The World Health Organisation is describing the situation as a "public health emergency of international concern" and is warning that the virus could mutate into a deadlier strain.
Mexican officials say the disease has killed 103 people and has infected more than 1,600 in the past two weeks.
No fatalities have yet been reported in other countries.
