Obama delivers Christmas speech

In the US, the President elect says this Christmas will be a tough time for many people struggling because of the recession.

He says millions of Americans have no job and many are unable to pay their bills.

Barack Obama says this season should be a time for Americans to renew a sense of common purpose and shared citizenship.

He has calling on his countrymen to rededicate themselves to the notion that they share a common destiny.
