Deposed leader takes tentative steps into Honduras
Saturday, 25 July 2009
The interim government of Honduras has dismissed as a 'publicity stunt' the return of deposed President Manuel Zeyela.
Mr. Zeyela was removed from power in June and threatened with arrest if he returned to the Central American state.
Mr. Zeyela was greeted by supporters as he crossed a few metres over the border from Nicaragua before returning a few minutes later.
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has called his actions 'reckless' and 'not conducive to restoring constitutional order'.
