Reports that BBC presenter Christine Bleakley could be on the verge of defecting to ITV were branded "speculation".
It was claimed that the 31-year-old presenter of The One Show has lined up a multi-million pound deal with ITV.
The News of the World said her four-year contract would include joining former colleague Adrian Chiles on the GMTV sofa.
He left the BBC in April after reportedly becoming disenchanted when Chris Evans was drafted in to present Friday night editions of The One Show.
An ITV spokesman said of the rumours: "It is just speculation."
He would not comment on whether bosses at the broadcaster were holding talks with Bleakley.
Last month Chiles hinted that the pair might be reunited on screen and said he "loved" working with her.
Speaking at the launch of ITV's World Cup coverage, which he will front, he said: "Obviously, there's no doubt, sooner or later, Christine and I will work together in the future. Whether that's going to be in September on GMTV or some time in the future in a far off time or place, I don't know."
