Elle Macpherson has described herself as a hands-on mum.
The supermodel may have an enviable lifestyle with a blossoming TV career, her own lingerie and cosmetics ranges, and a contract with Revlon, but she says nothing means as much to her as spending time with her sons.
The 46-year-old told Tatler: "I have help, but I don't have a nanny, for example, and it has been one of the best decisions I ever made because I get to participate in all aspects of my children's lives."
She went on: "I don't just walk in and do good-time mum. I do wake-up-even-though-you-don't-want-to-get-out-of-bed-mum. I do I'm-making-you-breakfast-and-I'm-sorry-but-you-have-to-have-fruit mum. I do We-are-doing-your-homework-together-whether-you-like-it-or-not-and-then-we-can-have-fun mum. There is a profoundness to my experiences."
Elle split from partner Arki Busson five years ago but sons Flynn, 12, and Cy, seven, spend ten days a month with their father. The model turned TV presenter is happy with this arrangement saying: "I realise it's important that the children have a balanced, loving and consistent relationship with their father. I've always supported this."
