Perry Fenwick and wife split up

Perry Fenwick and Angela Lonsdale have separated after five years of marriage

EastEnders star Perry Fenwick and actress wife Angela Lonsdale have separated after five years of marriage.

Perry, who plays downtrodden Billy Mitchell in the Walford soap, and Angela, best known for her role as Coronation Street police officer Emma Taylor, are thought to have split last month.

A spokesman for the couple said: "Perry Fenwick and Angela Lonsdale have sadly separated after five years of marriage - they remain the best of friends and ask that their privacy is respected."

Perry, 48, and Angela, 39, lived together in London and the break-up is said to have been a shock to friends and colleagues.

The actor joined EastEnders in 1998, where his character was married to Little Mo (Kacey Ainsworth).

Angela starred in Coronation Street for three years, where she played the wife of Curly Watts (Kevin Kennedy).

She left the show in 2003 to become a regular on police drama The Bill.

A friend is quoted in the Mirror saying: "They just ran out of love. They had a series of heart-to-hearts and decided to call it a day. No one else is involved."
