Rihanna: I'm not rude but quiet

Rihanna says her quiet nature is often mistaken for rudeness

Rihanna's out-there stage persona is all a ruse - she reveals she's actually a "quiet" girl at heart.

The Russian Roulette star - who nabbed two Grammys last month - said her shy side was often mistaken for rudeness.

"I don't really open up to a lot of people, usually I go very quiet; if I don't know someone often I don't say very much, I observe and people think I am snooty because of that - people assume that I'm a b***h," she told US radio station WPGC.

"But I don't think that I am. I just don't feel I have to be that enthusiastic if I don't know who you are yet," she added.

Rihanna insisted she wouldn't let the Chris Brown incident - the US singer served community labour for assaulting his then girlfriend - shadow her life.

"If I could step away from the music industry? I'd never do that because I really love what I do and it would be a shame to give this away because I dreamt about it for so many years," she said.
