Robbie's new song for Sport Relief

Robbie Williams is donating his next single to Sport Relief

Robbie Williams has donated his next single to charity as the official Sport Relief release.

Morning Sun is to be released on March 8, shortly before the charity's weekend of activities later that month.

Robbie said: "I am very happy to donate my time to help Sport Relief and I thank my co-writers for doing the same - please join us in helping this very worthwhile cause."

Robbie, due to receive the outstanding contribution to music award at the Brits next month, is no stranger to charity work and has his own fund, Give It Sum, to help worthy causes.

He is also a Unicef ambassador and patron of children's charity The Donna Louise Trust.

The star is also due to record his part for the Helping Haiti charity single this week, a version of the REM track Everybody Hurts, to help earthquake victims. The single will feature his former bandmates Take That.

Previous Sport Relief single artists have included Rachel Stevens, McFly and Leona Lewis.

Events for the charity take place from March 19 to 21.
