Zac Efron eyes up movie roles

Zac Efron is lining up his next film roles

Zac Efron is in talks to play a soldier and a gunman in two forthcoming movies.

The High School Musical star is "on the verge" of closing the deals for The Lucky One and Die In A Gunfight, reported Deadline.

Directed by Scott Hicks, The Lucky One is an adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' novel of the same name, which will see the 22-year-old portray an Iraq war soldier searching for the girl who acts as his good luck charm.

Zac - who next stars in Charlie St Cloud - has also taken a shine to the high-octane script of Die In A Gunfight, which is described by New York Magazine as "the Tarantino-esque blend of Gossip Girl, True Romance, and Romeo And Juliet".

He is expected to play a guy who embarks on a Romeo and Juliet-type forbidden romance after he falls in love with the daughter of his father's nemesis.
