Cusack likely to take over as Cork hurling captain

Published 18/11/2006

Donal €g Cusack looks likely to be announced as Cork's new hurling captain in the coming weeks after Brian Corcoran's retirement.

Kieran Murphy, Cian O'Connor and Peter Kelly are the three other players on the Cork panel from county champions Erins Own, but none of them are regular starters.

However, Cusack and his club Cloyne lost the county decider to Erin's Own and may get the nomination on that basis.
