Catt retires from international rugby

Published 28/10/2007

Mike Catt has announced his retirement from international rugby.

The 36 year old centre has played in four World Cups for England.

Extracts from his autobiography reveal he was thinking about quitting before last weekend's defeat to South Africa.

Meanwhile, former England captain Lawrence Dallaglio's made an outspoken attack on their World Cup coach Brian Ashton.

He claims differences between Ashton and his staff during the tournament left the players feeling like a pub team.

England rugby chief Rob Andrew's currently conducting a review of the side's performance in France.
