Munster in control of Pool 4 after win in Cardiff

Munster have kept their Heineken Cup defence on track with an away win over the Cardiff Blues at the Arms Park this afternoon.

The champs have now equalled the 11-match unbeaten run in the competition set by Leicester, who's back-to-back tournament victories Declan Kidney & Co are seeking to emulate.

Ronan O'Gara kicked five penalties in poor conditions that suited the traditional Munster game.

Denis Leamy got the matches only try, from a first-half rolling maul, and O'Gara made no mistake with the conversion.

Cardiff now face the return match in 'Fortress Thomond' next weekend needing a win to stay in contention in Pool 4.

Leicester beat Bourgoin 28-13 in France on Friday evening and trail group leaders Munster by four points on nine.
