Arsenal remain top of Premier League

Arsenal remain at the top of the Premier League table following this afternoon's games.

They defeated West Ham 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

Man United remain just two points behind Arsenal in second.

Alex Ferguson's side kept up the pressure with a 1-0 win over Birmingham at old Trafford.

The games only goal came midway through the first half as Carlos Tevez netted following a slick back-pass from Cristiano Ronaldo.

Everton are up to fifth in the table after a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough at the Riverside.

Both goals came in the second half - Andy Johnson and James McFadden on target.

Meanwhile Portsmouth defeated Reading 2-0 at the Madjeski Stadium.
