Arsenal sail to first victory in Emirates stadium

Arsenal recorded their first Barclays Premiership victory at the Emirates Stadium, as bottom club Sheffield United were beaten 3-0.

William Gallas scored his first goal since joining from Chelsea just after the

hour.

A slick interchange of passes between Henry and Fabergas resulted in Gallas getting through on a goal, allowing him to blast the ball home to maintain his successful start with the club.

Thierry Henry, back after injury, chipped a pass into the box, Cesc Fabregas half controlled it and Gallas smashed the aloft ball into the corner.

Four minutes later Blades captain Phil Jagielka put the ball through his own net, leaving it to the Gunner's talisman Thierry Henry to kill the game with a rare headed goal nine minutes from time.

Adebayor and Rosicky were replaced by Robin van Persie and Hleb for the

closing stages.

Deadline-day signing Julio Baptista was handed a run-out for Ljungberg, while

Warnock also made a couple of changes as he looked to pull a result from

somewhere.
