British clubs all victorious in UEFA Cup group ties

All four British clubs left in the UEFA Cup are on top of their respective groups this morning after winning their group games last night.

Albert Luque was on target for Newcastle as they beat Palermo 1-0 in Italy to go top of Group H, while Tottenham remain top of Group B after beating Bruges 3-1 at White Hart Lane.

Demitar Berbatov scored for the Londoners on either side of half-time, with Ireland captain Robbie Keane also hitting the net.

Elsewhere, Blackburn are top of Group E after a 3-0 home win over Basle, while Rangers beat Maccabi Haifa 2-0 in Glasgow to overtake the Israelis at the top of Group A.
