Chelsea sign teenager Danny Philliskirk from Oldham

Published 01/06/2007

Chelsea have completed their first summer signing after agreeing a deal to bring teenager Danny Philliskirk to Stamford Bridge.

The 16-year-old Oldham striker is the son of the club's youth team coach Tony Philliskirk.

He has signed a four-year contract with Chelsea, two of which will be a scholarship.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is understood to have agreed to consider sending some of his young players to Boundary Park as part of the deal.

Elsewhere today, Birmingham appear to have won the race to sign Middlesbrough's Stuart Parnaby on a free transfer, despite competition from Aston Villa, Everton, Sunderland and West Ham.
