Everton earn draw with Reading

Andrew Johnson scored his ninth goal of the season to rescue a point

for Everton against Reading at Goodison Park.

Reading had led from midway through the first half when Stephen Hunt's header

was turned into his own net by Everton defender Joleon Lescott.

Reading threatened to score a second on the break, but with `Rocky` star

Sylvester Stallone watching from the directors' box, Johnson forced a draw with

a header nine minutes from time.

Johnson chipped just wide after being put in on the right from a Cahill pass,

while Anichebe was booked for a foul on Little.

James Beattie came on for van der Meyde on 71 minutes.

Steve Sidwell saw a shot just clear the bar, while Leon Osman also went close

at the other end with a similar effort.

Everton scored the equaliser in the 81st minute when Joseph Yobo's long pass

forward was flicked on by Cahill for Johnson to head over Hahnemann and into the

net. Goodison erupted, Stallone was leaping around in the directors' box and

Everton looked to have got off the ropes.
