John Carver appointed caretaker manager at Leeds

Published 21/09/2006

John Carver has been appointed caretaker manager of Leeds following the departure of Kevin Blackwell yesterday.

Blackwell was sacked due to a string of poor results that has left the club second from the bottom in the Championship table.

Carver, who had been his assistant manager, will take charge of the team for the first time in this Saturday's game against Birmingham.
