Steve Staunton's Ireland side have registered their first win of the Euro 2008 qualifying campaign after beating minnows San Marino 5-0 at Lansdowne Road last night.
Goals from Andy Reid, Kevin Doyle and a hat-trick from Robbie Keane saw Ireland move onto four points in Group D in the last international soccer game to be played before the redevelopment of the Dublin venue.
Elsewhere last night, Germany could only manage a 1-1 draw with Cyprus in Nicosia, leaving them tied on 10 points at the top of the group with the Czech Republic.
