Long out of Cyprus match

Published 14/10/2007

Shane Long will miss Ireland's Euro 2008 qualifier against Cyprus on Wednesday with a groin injury.

John O'Shea hasn't trained this morning after sitting out last night's scoreless draw.

It's bad news for manager Stephen Staunton with Lee Carsley and Richard Dunne suspended after picking up second yellow cards yesterday.

Kevin Doyle, Kevin Kilbane and Andy Reid are all reported to be fine and Paul McShane and Stephen Hunt will also return to the squad.
