Rangers may face UEFA fine over Ibrox protestor

Published 03/11/2006 | 12:09

Rangers could be facing a UEFA fine after a protestor invaded the pitch during last night's match against Israeli side Maccabi Haifa.

The man ran almost the full length of the pitch at Ibrox wearing a t-shirt with a picture of the Pope and draped in a Palestinian flag.

He also attempted to handcuff himself to a goalpost before eventually being removed from the field.

The incident has been mentioned in the match report, meaning a disciplinary case will be opened.
