Shelbourne have gone six points clear at the top of the Eircom League Premier Division after beating Sligo Rovers 2-0 at the Showgrounds last night.
Stuart Byrne put the Dubliners ahead just before the half-hour mark, with an Adam Hughes own goal sealing the defeat for Sligo in the second half.
The result saw Shels increase their league lead as second-placed Derry City slumped to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Drogheda United.
Shane Barrett netted a hat-trick for the home side at United Park, with Kevin Deary getting on the scoreboard for the Northerners, who remain just ahead of Cork City due to their superior goal difference.
In the First Division, meanwhile, Shamrock Rovers moved three points clear of Dundalk last night after beating Monaghan 2-0 at Tolka Park.
