14-year-old critical after being hit by lightning

A 14-year-old boy remains in hospital this morning after being struck by lightening in west Dublin yesterday afternoon.

The accident happened as the boy played outdoors in Kilclare Gardens in Tallaght at 4.30pm.

He was admitted to hospital and is believed to be in a critical condition.

The area was experiencing heavy downpours at the time of the accident.
